Care
Ensure that each resident is treated individually and with respect;
Ensure that residents are fully involved in the running of the home and the provision of the care;
Ensure that each resident's needs are regularly and thoroughly assessed and that that the assessments are used to devise the goals that they want to reach and a plan for the way in which they achieve these;
Co-ordinate the multi-disciplinary team in the management of the service;
Ensure that evidence based and best practice guidelines underpin the care given in the Home.
Training
To assist with training needs of all staff as needed.
To help identify staff training needs.
To ensure staff are available to attend training courses.
To ensure all staff receive statutory and mandatory training and updates in a timely manner.
Building / Maintenance
Ensure high standards of hygiene throughout the building.
Ensure small repairs are carried out quickly.
Advise senior management of necessary repairs promptly.
Offer suggestions for improvement including design, adaptation, decorations, furniture and equipment.
Security of building.
Administration
Returns for proprietors.
Keeping an up-to-date inventory and stock control.
Ensure budget is adhered to (cost effective management).
Knowledge and implementation of Health & Safety at Work Act.
Ordering the cleaning materials and monitoring standards.
Operation and control of petty cash.
Ensuring that the Company policy in the handling of residents’ personal and financial affairs is adhered to.
Safe keeping of Residents’ cash/valuables as per conditions of Company’s Contract of Admission.
Staff Management
Ensure that appropriate staff are recruited, retained, motivated and deploy the staff resource to provide an appropriate service to residents within the budget for staffing;
Ensure that appropriate training, individual management and supervision and team development are provided to enhance the service to residents at the home.
Facilities Management/ Building Maintenance
To ensure that there is a good quality environment for residents to live in and staff to work in.
Ensure the buildings, fixtures and fittings are properly maintained.
Ensure buildings and practices meet all legislative requirements including Health and Safety Legislation.
Maximise and maintain income.
Finance
Ensure proper management of all finances available to the home.
Work jointly with the residents, staff, administrator and service purchases and other managers to devise and negotiate the next year’s budget or expenditure.
To develop and implement appropriate finance systems and controls.
To effectively manage the home so the finance viability is maintained.
To prepare one year and five year business plans for submission to the board.
To assist in review’s of operational and other expenditure to budget.
Monitor Care Centres income and expenditure through monthly management accounts.
Contract Management
Assist with the monitoring of all contracts at the homes as required by the Financial Controller for example, hairdresser, maintenance of the building, recreational activities, etc.
Prepare and present reports to Purchasing Officers, Social Services for contract review meetings.

You will need to have proven experience in a Care Home environment and be fully qualified. Able to deliver a high level of care in all aspects of the residents needs. Experience in Dementia Care would be an advantage.
