Person-centred care

By putting Residents at the heart of everything we do, our team can ensure that all their individual needs are met. Whether a Resident is living with complex needs, a learning disability, or requires additional care support, person-centred care is a suitable and successful approach.

We look at all aspects of Residents’ needs – including physical and emotional wellbeing, spiritual needs, nutritional requirements and any other important aspects of their overall health. By taking a holistic approach, we can help Residents live the life they wish to lead, empowered by our support and care. Their happiness and fulfilment are our priorities.

Living life to the full

Our Care Home in Glasgow is home to Residents of various ages and interests, so our activities programme reflects that diversity. Our enthusiastic Activities Team devise programmes that provide mental stimulation, increase mobility and provide opportunities to socialise.

Our older Residents enjoy karaoke, movie days, ball games, armchair exercises, gardening, arts and crafts, tea parties, reminiscence sessions and bingo, to name but a few. Younger Residents like socialising in the bar, playing games, visiting local swimming baths, taking trips into Glasgow and visits from a mobile petting zoo. We have lots of visitors from local community groups, entertainers, dance troupes and local school children. We’re lucky to be part of such a vibrant, friendly area.

dining and nutrition

Dining and nutrition

Good nutrition is vital for all Residents, no matter their age. So, our chefs prepare healthy, nutritious meals on-site every day. We strive to get a balance between Residents favourite meals and offering them new culinary experiences. Plus, the kitchen team likes to mark big events, seasonal occasions and personal celebrations with special meals.

When Residents arrive, we ask them to talk us through their favourite foods and meals, as well as any dietary requirements. We ask for regular feedback and suggestions for new dishes to include. Residents are also presented with a special homemade birthday cake as part of their celebrations.

Covid-secure visiting

Our number one priority is keeping Residents safe and connected with their loved ones. We have recently created a COVID-secure, indoor visiting space to ensure that Residents can socialise with their family and friends in warmth and comfort.

A message from our Manager

“It’s my great privilege to be the Home Manager at Haydale, and my favourite time of day is when I’m interacting with the residents and really getting to know them and their families.
With almost 20 years experience in the care industry I still get excited about helping people.
I’m lucky to have a very talented and dedicated care team and together we are constantly striving to reach and maintain high standards.
I’m also a very keen sports fan, especially football.”
