A September Filled with Celebrations and Creativity at The Priory

September was an eventful month at The Priory Care Home, filled with milestone birthdays, live entertainment, creative activities and plenty of opportunities for residents and colleagues to enjoy time together.

The celebrations included Pamela’s special birthday, complete with a wonderful homemade cake prepared by the home’s chef, Princess. Residents and colleagues gathered to mark the occasion and make Pamela’s day memorable.

There was another important milestone on 16th September as Joyce celebrated her 80th birthday. Joyce opened her cards and presents before enjoying a visit from her favourite Elvis Presley tribute performer. The music soon had residents and colleagues singing and dancing along, creating a joyful atmosphere throughout the home.

The month also featured plenty of opportunities for relaxation and pampering. Amber-Leigh visited the home to style residents’ hair, while Charlene’s Nail Bar gave residents the chance to have their nails buffed and painted in colours of their choice.

 

Residents and colleagues also enjoyed friendly games of Hangman on the home’s interactive table and discussed articles from the Daily Sparkle, including the history of the St Leger in Doncaster—the oldest of Britain’s five Classic horse races.

Creativity took centre stage during Arts in Care Homes Week. Residents selected their favourite colours and made handprints that were incorporated into a special autumn photo frame alongside pinecones and pool noodles. The project gave everyone an enjoyable way to express themselves and work together on a seasonal display.

 

The week’s activities were made even more enjoyable by a lively performance from Dave the Singer, which inspired another enthusiastic singalong.

To round off the month, residents and colleagues were delighted to receive a generous donation of cakes from Dawn Jennings at Sandersons Bakery in Hildene Shopping Centre.

From birthday celebrations and live music to arts, crafts and delicious treats, September brought many happy moments to The Priory. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who helped make it such a memorable month.
