A Special Teddy Bears’ Picnic at Elderslie Care Home!
26 February 2025
Yesterday, Elderslie Care Home had the absolute pleasure of welcoming children from Carriagehill Nursery for a heartwarming Teddy Bears’ Picnic with our residents! Each child brought along their favourite teddy, and together, we shared a magical afternoon filled with stories, laughter, and joy.
The children delighted in listening to classic tales, including The Highway Rat, The Scarecrow’s Wedding, We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, and The Detective Dog. Residents were equally enchanted, reminiscing about their own childhood favourites and watching the little ones immerse themselves in the stories.
Moira, one of our residents, shared, “It was a lovely afternoon, seeing the children all enjoying themselves.” Gemma added, “This has been lovely, thank you so much.”
This heartwarming event was part of the B Happie Initiative, which encourages meaningful intergenerational connections. It also highlighted the importance of reading to young children, fostering a love of books while enhancing language skills, creativity, and emotional development. Seeing the joy it brought to both the children and residents today was truly special!
A huge thank you to everyone who made this event possible! We can’t wait for more moments like this.
