A Special Valentine’s Day Celebration at Netherton Green Care Home

Valentine’s Day at Netherton Green Care Home was a truly heartwarming occasion as we celebrated love and companionship with a special three-course meal in our Memory Lane Café. With only a few residents still having their husbands or wives, we wanted to make the day extra special for them.

Three couples joined us for this intimate celebration: Graham B with his wife Jan, Audrey S with her husband Geoff, and Paul with his wife Margaret. The meal began with a comforting bowl of vegetable soup, followed by a delicious roast chicken dinner, and finished with a sweet treat of Viennetta and strawberries. The meal was perfectly complemented by glasses of sparkling Shloer, adding a festive touch to the occasion.

Geoff, Audrey’s husband, expressed his amazement at the effort put into the event and how wonderful everything was. Audrey herself felt as if she were dining in a proper restaurant and said she felt truly special. Paul shared how happy and grateful he was to spend such a meaningful time with his wife, while Graham described the experience as amazing. Each resident presented their loved one with a heartfelt card and a chocolate rose, making the moment even more memorable.

The atmosphere was made even more romantic with love songs playing softly in the background, creating the perfect mood for the occasion. A special thank you goes to our talented chef, Jayne, who made everything look fantastic and played a key role in serving the meal.
