A Taste of France Brings Joy to Residents at Netherton Green Care Home
18 February 2026
Residents at Netherton Green Care Home enjoyed a delightful trip to France without leaving their home, as the team hosted a themed culinary day filled with delicious food, music and plenty of creativity.
Team Manager Ella and colleagues spent the day baking French pastries alongside residents, offering a hands-on experience that brought smiles and laughter to the home. The pastries were filled with spiced apple, chocolate or jam, and residents enthusiastically rolled up their sleeves to get involved, creating a wonderful selection of tasty treats together.
The team fully embraced the theme by dressing in French costumes while classic French music played in the background, helping to create a lively and immersive atmosphere.
One resident shared, “It felt like we’d been transported to a little café in France — the music and smells were just lovely.”
The day was made even more special with a visit from a former colleague and her young son, who quickly joined in to lend a helping hand. Residents thoroughly enjoyed the intergenerational interaction, with one commenting, “It was so nice to see a little one getting involved — it really brightened the day.”
The French experience continued into lunchtime, where residents were treated to a delicious meal of Beef Bourguignon followed by a classic Cherry Clafoutis with cream for dessert.
The themed day was a wonderful way to bring residents together, spark conversation and create meaningful moments, showcasing Netherton Green’s commitment to enriching experiences that celebrate culture, connection and joy.
