A Wonderful Multicultural Celebration at Bishop’s Cleeve Care Home
15 July 2026
Throughout the afternoon, team members shared stories about their cultures, talking with residents and families about their traditions, faith, music and favourite foods. These conversations sparked wonderful memories, encouraged learning and helped everyone gain a deeper appreciation of the diverse backgrounds within our home.
Our care team personally prepared an incredible spread of authentic dishes for everyone to enjoy, including Nigerian fried rice, jollof rice, mild spicy chicken, puff puffs, fufu and chicken with pepper sauce. The delicious food was a real highlight of the day, with residents, families and colleagues enjoying the opportunity to experience new flavours and celebrate different culinary traditions together.
It was truly heartwarming to see residents, families and team members celebrating side by side, sharing stories, laughter and experiences. Days like these strengthen friendships, promote understanding and remind us that our differences are something to be celebrated. Creating opportunities for everyone to come together in this way helps build a warm, inclusive and welcoming community where everyone feels valued and respected.
A huge thank you goes to our amazing Wellbeing Coordinator, Terri, for organising such a meaningful and memorable event, and to our wonderful kitchen and care teams for helping make the day such a fantastic success. We are already looking forward to our next celebration!
