22 July 2024
Ryland View celebrated Armed Forces Day with a lively afternoon of entertainment and heartfelt appreciation for those who serve or have served our country. Staff, residents, and guests gathered in the sunshine to enjoy live music by Phil Aaron, who serenaded the crowd with classic songs that had everyone singing along.
The highlight of the event was the BHappie Moment, where staff and residents danced together, filling the air with smiles, laughter, and joy. Shell from the kitchen staff remarked, “This is lovely; it’s been so nice spending some time with our residents singing and dancing!” Emily, daughter of one of the residents, shared, “It was a great afternoon; Dad enjoyed the singing. Thanks for arranging it.”
Jessica, Admin at Ryland View, echoed the positive sentiment: “What a fantastic afternoon! The entertainment was brilliant. He had all of us staff up and dancing, and seeing the smiles and laughter on our residents’ faces was a joy!” The music brought back cherished memories for many, including resident Olive, who said, “This music brings back so many memories from the 1930s when I was born. I have really enjoyed myself!”
The atmosphere was electric, showcasing the love and strong relationships within the Ryland View community. The photos captured from the day are a testament to the happiness and camaraderie shared by all. Staff members embraced the spirit of the day by wearing armed forces-themed attire, adding a special touch to the celebrations.
The event was also an opportunity to express gratitude to all who have served or are currently serving in the armed forces. “Thank you for your service,” was the resounding message of the day.
