Arncliffe Court Care Home Strengthens Community Ties with Local School Visit
31 March 2025
Arncliffe Court Care Home has launched its Intergenerational Engagement Programme with a heartwarming visit to Holy Family Primary School. This initiative aims to bridge the gap between generations, fostering meaningful conversations and shared experiences between residents and young students.
Residents Lilly, Pam, and Dot especially enjoyed the afternoon, reminiscing about their school days, past careers, and family life. The children were captivated, eagerly asking about how education and daily routines have evolved over time. These lively discussions created an engaging exchange, allowing both generations to learn from each other and build connections.
One of the most touching moments of the visit came when the children performed a song for the residents, leaving many in the room teary-eyed. The joy and emotional connection between both groups were evident, making the experience truly memorable.
Following the success of this visit, regular sessions have been planned to continue strengthening these intergenerational bonds. Additionally, residents have been invited back to Holy Family Primary School for afternoon tea with teachers and children—an opportunity to deepen their relationships even further.
The day concluded with singing and dancing, creating a joyful and uplifting atmosphere. Arncliffe Court Care Home is excited to continue this enriching programme, fostering lasting connections between residents and the younger generation.
