B Happie Bubbly Bingo Night Brings Joy to Haydale Care Home
25 September 2024
Haydale Care Home came alive with excitement as residents, their families, and the local community gathered for the much-anticipated “B Happie Bubbly Bingo Night.” It was an evening filled with fun, laughter, and connection, offering everyone a chance to unwind and enjoy the vibrant atmosphere.
The night kicked off in style with guests welcomed by tables adorned with champagne bottles, buckets, and glasses. The event was a “Full house” indeed, as the care home was packed with attendees ready to participate in games of bingo, enjoy glasses of bubbly, and dance the night away to live music. The talented Sharon Stevens, a crowd favorite, provided the musical entertainment, and residents couldn’t resist joining in on the famous “slush” dance.
In addition to bingo, there were plenty of raffles and football cards, giving participants the chance to win fantastic prizes. Among the coveted items up for grabs were the Red Bus Bistro Afternoon Tea, Tinto Tapas vouchers, and a Spanish cleaning hamper. It was certainly a night to remember for Helen Malone, a relative of one of our residents, as luck was on her side. Helen’s winning streak included the football card, a full house, and the special flyer!
Resident Ella McLeish also experienced a moment of happiness when she won a luxurious pamper hamper, a prize that brought a smile to her face.
The “B Happie” event proved to be a great opportunity to bring residents closer to their families and the local community. It offered a chance to relax, forget about their worries, and enjoy a night of laughter and music. We were even delighted to have a local yoga instructor who decided to attend after seeing our advertisement, further strengthening the connection between Haydale Care Home and the surrounding community.
A big round of applause goes to our wonderful Wellbeing Team, Isabel Cummings and Kirstin Millar, who went above and beyond to ensure the event was a success. From rolling out the “B Happie” theme with personalized bottles and champagne buckets to creating champagne toppers and balloon arches, their efforts didn’t go unnoticed. Kirstin sported her lucky “B Happie Bingo” T-shirt, while Isabel shined in her personalized “B Happier” tee, embodying the spirit of the event.
Adding to the joy of the evening was support from our sister home, Norwood, who joined us with six of their own residents to partake in the festivities. The warmth and camaraderie shared between Haydale and Norwood residents further exemplified the sense of community we strive to cultivate.
