Bedford Care Home Kicks Off the Year with ‘Viva Las Bedford’ Celebration!

Bedford Care Home rang in the new year in spectacular fashion with its very first themed event, ‘Viva Las Bedford,’ held on February 1st. The Pennington unit was transformed into a dazzling Vegas-inspired paradise, celebrating the glitz, glamour, and the enduring legacy of Elvis Presley.

Elvis remains a beloved icon among the Pennington residents, and the team went all out to recreate the magic of Vegas. The venue shone with tinsel, golden accents, and giant foil balloons featuring legends such as Elvis and Frank Sinatra. The entire room radiated the vibrant energy of a Las Vegas casino—minus the gambling!

One of the highlights of the event was the star performance by Bedford’s very own maintenance man, Malcolm, who took centre stage dressed as Elvis. He delighted everyone with his rendition of classic rock ‘n’ roll hits, bringing smiles and nostalgia to residents and staff alike. The fun didn’t stop there—staff members also joined in, singing iconic Vegas tunes and ensuring the celebration was filled with music and joy.

To add to the authentic Vegas experience, residents were treated to champagne and shandies, enhancing the festive spirit. They also had a fantastic time playing with gold and silver coins, bringing in a touch of Vegas-style fortune and excitement. Of course, no party is complete without delicious treats! Julie, Bedford’s talented kitchen star, baked stunning Vegas-themed cupcakes, while fresh fruit platters added a refreshing touch.

Laughter, music, and dancing filled the air as residents embraced the glamour of the day in their sparkling outfits, truly embodying the spirit of Las Vegas. The event marked an incredible start to the home’s themed celebrations for the year, setting the tone for many more magical moments to come.
