Bishop’s Cleeve Wellbeing Coordinator Wins National Award for Bringing Joy to Residents

A dedicated member of the team at Bishop’s Cleeve Care Home has received national recognition for her commitment to creating meaningful, joyful experiences for residents, including those living with dementia.

Terri Rowles, Wellbeing Coordinator at Bishop’s Cleeve Care Home, was named a winner in Advinia Healthcare’s Heroes of Happiness programme, which celebrates colleagues who go above and beyond to enrich the lives of residents.

Terri was nominated for the award after impressing colleagues with her enthusiasm, creativity and ability to build strong connections with residents and their families.

Since joining Bishop’s Cleeve, Terri has been instrumental in creating activities and events tailored to residents living with dementia, helping them remain engaged and connected through meaningful experiences.

Sarah Meir, Home Manager at Bishop’s Cleeve Care Home, praised Terri’s contribution to the home.

She said:

“Terri’s passion for enriching the lives of our residents is evident in everything she does. She has an incredible ability to understand each person as an individual and to create experiences that promote purpose, independence and joy.”

Sarah added that Terri has demonstrated an excellent understanding of person-centred dementia care and consistently delivers activities that are meaningful to residents.

Terri was presented with her award by Sarah Meir and Mark Dale, Head of Hospitality at Advinia Healthcare, who surprised her with the recognition during an emotional presentation at the home.

Terri said:

“Thank you, everyone, for such kind words. It’s been hard work, but so rewarding when you see the difference we are all making at Bishop’s Cleeve as a team.”

The Heroes of Happiness programme was launched by Advinia Healthcare to recognise colleagues across its homes who consistently make an exceptional difference to the lives of residents.

Mark Dale said:

He added:
