Boots Memory Boxes Bring Comfort, Conversation and Connection to Advinia Homes

9 July 2025

We’re delighted to share that Advinia Healthcare has received three Boots Memory Boxes as part of the Boots UK Memory Box initiative—an inspiring project created to support people living with dementia through sensory-rich, nostalgic engagement.

Developed in collaboration with The Perfume Shop, Unilever, and other partners, the nationwide initiative saw over 1,000 memory boxes donated to care homes and community groups during Dementia Action Week 2025. Each box is carefully curated with vintage-style toiletries, iconic packaging replicas, postcards, photos, and sensory objects, designed to spark memories, evoke joy, and encourage meaningful conversation.

At Advinia, this initiative aligns seamlessly with our B Happie Framework—supporting Residents to feel Safe, Connected, and Relaxed through everyday moments of happiness.

“The Boots Memory Boxes are already creating beautiful moments of joy, curiosity, and connection for our Residents,” shared Naomi Daglish, Lead Happiness & Wellbeing Ambassador. “They’ve sparked wonderful conversations, smiles, and shared memories—it’s a truly heartwarming initiative that we’re thrilled to be part of.”

So far, the boxes have been introduced at Bishop’s Cleeve, Oxford Manor, and Maycroft Care Homes, where they’ve been met with warmth and excitement. To ensure more of our Advinia Family can benefit, the boxes will rotate across other Homes in the coming weeks.

“The items inside bring comfort and a real sense of familiarity,” said one staff member. “They’ve encouraged laughter, storytelling, and a few emotional moments too.”

Residents reminisced about their own memories of Boots:
“You would be able to get lots of advice in Boots.”
“I gave gripe water to my children.”
“I remember the smell of iodine.”
“No 7 was lovely makeup!”—prompting chats about Avon, Elizabeth Arden, and the joys of perfume shopping.

A heartfelt thank you to Boots and their partners for this generous gift, and for championing inclusive, memory-supportive care across the UK.
