Burrswood Care Home Celebrates the Opening of New Residential & Dementia Suite

Burrswood Care Home has announced the grand opening of its new residential and dementia suite, The Lowry Suite, following a recent Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection in which the home was rated ‘Good’ in all areas. This achievement comes on the heels of the care home’s recent recognition as finalists in The Great British Care Awards 2024, a testament to the outstanding dedication and commitment shown by the entire team.

The Lowry Suite is the result of months of hard work by home manager Andrew Polverino and his staff, who have been meticulously preparing the suite for its launch. The new suite offers 17 well-appointed ground-floor bedrooms, all featuring ensuite facilities, spacious communal areas, and stunning views of secure, well-maintained gardens, providing residents with a warm and inviting environment.

What makes The Lowry Suite particularly special is that its name was chosen through a collaborative process involving residents, families, staff members, and stakeholders, demonstrating Burrswood’s deep commitment to valuing relationships and involving everyone in this exciting new chapter.

Andrew Polverino, the Registered Manager of Burrswood Care Home, expressed his pride and excitement, saying, “As the registered manager at Burrswood, I’m delighted with the opening of our newly refurbished suite, The Lowry Suite. I am excited to invite new residents to be part of our fantastic home and look forward to supporting our community with more resources during challenging times across the sector. I am deeply proud of the journey my team have taken in making Burrswood House a fantastic place to live and work. The Lowry Suite will offer care to residents who live with dementia and will be a safe place for residents to live and enjoy. If there is anything I have learned from the refurbishment of The Lowry Suite, it’s that I am no decorator, and quite honestly, I’m glad about that.”
