Burrswood Celebrates a Joyful Easter Weekend Filled with Crafts, Cakes and Community
29 April 2025
It’s been a lovely Bank Holiday weekend at Burrswood Care Home, where residents and staff came together to celebrate Easter with plenty of creativity, laughter, and shared memories.
This year, our Easter celebrations focused on connection and community. Residents enjoyed a variety of Easter crafts, including decorating festive artwork and designing their own Easter bonnets. It was wonderful to see residents from different houses coming together, sharing stories, and reflecting on how Easter traditions have evolved over the years.
One of the highlights was our Easter raffle, which included a tempting selection of Easter eggs and wine. The raffle raised an impressive £80 for the residents’ fund—thank you to everyone who contributed and took part!
In the kitchen, Ivy had a special moment as she joined Kim, our chef, to help prepare delicious Easter cakes for the buffet. A passionate baker, Ivy thoroughly enjoyed herself and has already asked if she can help again in the future—something we’re more than happy to encourage.
Easter Sunday brought a lot of smiles as residents and staff donned bunny ears and shared jokes throughout the day. The celebrations were topped off with a traditional roast lunch followed by an evening buffet, all lovingly prepared by our brilliant catering team.
The weekend was a perfect example of the warmth and community spirit that make Burrswood such a special place to live and work.
