Causeway Church Ladies Bring “Comfort and Joy” to Haydale Care Home Residents

The residents of Haydale Care Home were once again wrapped in warmth and kindness during the latest monthly visit from the Causeway Church Ladies, who brought with them a beautiful theme of “Comfort and Joy.”
Led by Minister Monika, dressed delightfully in her cosy pyjamas, the June session was a heartfelt celebration of slowing down, finding peace in small moments, and allowing ourselves to feel safe and joyful — values that align deeply with Haydale’s B Happie initiative, focused on keeping residents Connected, Safe, and Relaxed.
“When we allow ourselves to unwind and feel at ease, we open the door to joy,” Minister Monika shared, gently encouraging residents to embrace the comfort around them.
As part of the visit, each resident was given a cuddly teddy bear — a simple yet touching gift that lit up the room with smiles, stories, and laughter. Residents chatted animatedly about their new teddies, comparing them playfully and sharing fond childhood memories sparked by the plush companions.
“The atmosphere was filled with warmth, just like a big family gathering,” said a member of staff. “The residents were visibly happier, more relaxed, and deeply engaged — it was truly special.”
