Celebrating 60 Years of Gary at Ryland View Care Home

Boxing Day was extra special this year at Ryland View Care Home as we celebrated Gary’s milestone 60th birthday with a heartfelt gathering of family, friends, and staff. The celebration was filled with joy, music, and laughter, making it a day to remember for everyone involved.

Gary’s mother and brother joined the festivities, expressing their gratitude to the staff for creating such a meaningful celebration. “Thank you for making his 60th special,” they said, moved by the love and effort poured into the occasion.

Staff came together to make the day unforgettable, singing and dancing along with Gary. Hugh, our kitchen assistant, stepped into the role of DJ, playing all of Gary’s favourite songs and keeping the party atmosphere lively. The kitchen staff, led by Chef Manager Becky, prepared a delicious buffet and a beautifully crafted birthday cake that brought a big smile to Gary’s face. “How lovely to see Gary so happy,” Becky shared. “He was delighted with his cake.”

Adding to the fun, the home celebrated a cozy Pyjama Day, with both staff and residents donning their favourite sleepwear. Gary received a brand-new set of pyjamas for his birthday, adding an extra special touch to the day.

New residents and visitors also shared in the joy. Maureen, on her second day at the home, was touched by the warm atmosphere. “This is so lovely to see,” she said. “Gary looks so happy, and it’s nice to be involved in the party.”

Sarah, our Activities Coordinator, expressed her delight in seeing the event’s success. “I am so happy that Gary’s 60th and Pyjama Day turned out so well. To see all the residents smiling and dancing is so rewarding.”

Even visitors noticed the positive energy in the home. The granddaughter of resident Muriel shared, “We have come to see Nan for Christmas, and she looks so happy. Thank you to you and the staff for your hard work.”

Gary’s 60th birthday celebration brought together the spirit of family, friendship, and community at Ryland View Care Home.
