Christmas Cheer Lights Up Manby House at Ryland View Care Home

30 December 2024

The festive season was in full swing at Ryland View Care Home as residents, staff, and families gathered for a spectacular Christmas party on Manby House. The event proved to be a resounding success, filled with music, laughter, and plenty of holiday spirit.

The highlight of the afternoon was a live performance by Mel Day, a former contestant on Britain’s Got Talent. Mel brought a Motown flair to the party, seamlessly blending soulful classics with beloved Christmas tunes. His lively performance had everyone singing along, clapping, and even hitting the floor for a joyful rendition of “Oops Upside Your Head.”

The atmosphere was electric as residents danced, sang, and shared precious moments with their loved ones. Gloria, a resident, was all smiles as she joined her daughter on the dance floor. “I was singing and dancing with my daughter, and it was wonderful!” she said with a radiant smile.

Hazel, another resident, was touched by the sense of community. “How lovely was the party, seeing all the staff and families getting into the festive spirit,” she remarked. The sentiment was shared by George, who enjoyed spending the afternoon with his wife. “And a little tipple for Christmas made it even better!” he added with a chuckle.

Adding to the excitement, the event featured a raffle, with Peter, a resident, taking home the top prize. “I am so happy that I won the raffle!” he exclaimed, his joy adding to the festive atmosphere.

A special thank you goes to Becky and her kitchen team for crafting a fabulous buffet that delighted everyone’s taste buds. From festive treats to savoury delights, the spread added to the celebratory vibe. The party was expertly organised by Sarah, wellbeing coordinator, whose efforts created an unforgettable afternoon for all in attendance.

The event was a heartwarming reminder of the joy that comes from coming together as a community during the holiday season. From the music to the dancing, the laughter to the shared moments, it was truly a Christmas party to remember.
