Cloisters Care Home Marks Marie Curie Daffodil Day with Thoughtful Tribute

14 April 2025

On Tuesday 25th March, residents at Cloisters Care Home came together to take part in a meaningful and heartfelt celebration for Marie Curie Daffodil Awareness Day, honouring the charity’s incredible work supporting those with terminal illnesses

The event was a gentle yet powerful tribute. Residents hand-crafted beautiful daffodil badges and decorations, thoughtfully adorning the table with Marie Curie posters, creating a warm and reflective atmosphere. Each attendee proudly wore a homemade daffodil badge, symbolising unity and support for those affected by life-limiting conditions.

The morning began with tea, coffee, and a selection of doughnuts, while residents and visiting family members shared memories, discussed the importance of end-of-life care, and explored Marie Curie’s website on an activity tablet. This not only sparked meaningful conversations but also gave everyone the chance to learn more about the charity’s impact.

There was music, too—residents sang moving classics like “We’ll Meet Again” by Vera Lynn and “Que Sera Sera”, which they felt captured the spirit of the day. In a touching moment, they raised their hands together to send out positive thoughts and energy to all the Marie Curie workers across the country.

Resident Norman shared, “Marie Curie is one of those charities that I will always support! The tremendous work that they do is beyond any thanks that we can give. Simply put, they are marvellous.

The event brought pride, connection, and a sense of community to all involved—showing that even small acts of remembrance can have a lasting impact.
