Craigbank Care Home Rocks St. Patrick’s Day with Elvis Tribute and Poetry Celebration
14 April 2025
Craigbank Care Home brought the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day to life with a joyful, music-filled celebration that united residents from all four units, along with their families and friends. The highlight of the afternoon was a lively performance by an Elvis tribute band, which had the entire home buzzing with excitement, singing, dancing, and laughter.
Julie opened the event with a heartfelt welcome speech, paying tribute to St. Patrick’s legacy and setting the tone for a warm and spirited gathering. Residents joined in by reciting poetry in honour of the day. Isabel McLaughlin shared a beautiful poem about friendship and good cheer, while Phylis Freeman contributed touching religious verses, adding depth and meaning to the occasion.
As the music played on, residents were animated and engaged—many danced joyfully and even received personal serenades from ‘Elvis’ himself. DT, one of the residents, contributed to the celebration in a special way by creating a handmade Elvis poster for the performer.
Guests enjoyed a spread of delicious snacks, cakes, drinks, and a fun twist on tradition with Guinness jelly, adding to the festive atmosphere. Families commented on how wonderful the afternoon was, praising the sense of togetherness, entertainment, and cheer that filled the home.
The event was a perfect blend of music, tradition, and community spirit, making this year’s St. Patrick’s Day at Craigbank Care Home a truly memorable one.
