Roberttown Care Home was full of excitement and smiles on Saturday 12th April as residents welcomed the return of the Route 62 Bikers, who stopped by during their annual Easter Charity Bike Ride. The much-anticipated visit brought back fond memories for many residents who remembered the bikers’ visit last year — and this year’s event didn’t disappoint.
Residents gathered outdoors, enjoying the warm spring sunshine while listening to music and indulging in ice cream as they waited eagerly for the bikers’ arrival. The atmosphere was festive and full of anticipation, with residents sharing stories about motorbikes and past Easter celebrations.
As the roar of engines echoed through the area, the Route 62 Bikers made their entrance, filling the care home’s car park with gleaming bikes. The sight brought joy and fascination to the residents, many of whom strolled around to admire the motorcycles up close.
Adding a fun and festive touch to the day was the Biker Easter Bunny, who delighted everyone by personally handing out Easter eggs to each resident. The thoughtful gesture sparked smiles and laughter throughout the home.
“It’s been a lovely afternoon — the bikes are brilliant, and everyone’s spirits have been lifted,” said one member of staff. “It’s a real treat for the residents.”
One resident shared, “I remember them from last year. They’re such a friendly bunch, and it means a lot that they come back.”
