Easter Joy at Deanfield Care Home: A Heartwarming Afternoon of Fun, Friendship, and Furry Smiles
24 April 2025
Deanfield Care Home was bursting with joy and laughter this Easter as residents, staff, visiting families, and children from Penilee Nursery came together for a magical intergenerational celebration.
The Easter Egg Hunt was the highlight of the day, with residents teaming up with the nursery children to search for brightly coloured eggs hidden around the home. It was a heartwarming sight to see generations working hand in hand — from helping little ones spot eggs to sharing giggles along the way.
“It was just lovely watching the children and residents enjoy each other’s company,” said a staff member. “There was so much joy in the room.”
Adding to the festive spirit, Deepa from the team made sure every service user received a special Easter egg, spreading smiles and sweetness throughout the afternoon.
Another star of the day was Banjo, the beloved therapy dog, who became an instant favourite among the children. “They couldn’t stop cuddling him — he was like a big fluffy Easter treat himself!” one parent laughed. Banjo seemed to be enjoying all the attention just as much, wagging his tail non-stop as he made his rounds.
The afternoon also saw a touching family moment, as a resident’s son, his wife, and their two daughters joined in to help with the egg hunt. “It was a lovely way to spend the day together, and the girls had such fun,” they shared.
Events like these continue to show the magic of bringing generations together — a reminder that connection, laughter, and a few chocolate eggs can go a long way in creating lasting memories.
