Elderslie Care Home was filled with joy and celebration as Residents, Relatives, Friends, and the local community gathered for a memorable Robert Burns-themed lunch. The event honoured Scotland’s beloved bard in true Burns Night style, complete with traditional Scottish food, lively music, and heartwarming laughter.
A special highlight of the day was the visit from the little ones at Carriagehill Nursery, whose energy and smiles brought an extra dose of cheer to the festivities. Reflecting on the day, Resident Mattie shared, “It’s been great, it was lovely seeing the children too.”
The Burns Supper was part of Elderslie’s B Happie Initiative, which aims to create happiness and meaningful connections through shared experiences and community events. Relative Marjorie praised the gathering, saying, “The meal was lovely, it was such a nice afternoon. I can’t wait to come back.”
Nursery staff also expressed their gratitude, noting, “Today’s visit was fantastic, and the effort put in by the team at Elderslie was amazing.”
The event was a true celebration of Scottish culture and community spirit. A heartfelt thank you goes to the dedicated team at Elderslie, along with all the residents, families, and community members who made the day so special.
