Farewell to Our Beloved Trevor – 30 Years of Smiles and Reggae at Ryland View

It was a day full of emotions at Ryland View Care Home as we came together to celebrate the incredible journey of one of our most treasured residents, Trevor, who after 30 wonderful years with us, is embarking on a new chapter closer to his loved ones.

Trevor isn’t just our longest-standing resident—he’s the heartbeat of Ryland View. Known for his infectious smile, love for reggae music, and lively spirit, Trevor has brought joy to every corner of our home. Whether he was dancing through the halls or stealing the spotlight at events, he’s always been the life of the party and a cherished friend to many.

To give Trevor the send-off he deserves, we hosted a special BHappie celebration with none other than Elvis himself joining the fun! With classic tunes, dancing, and plenty of smiles, the afternoon was filled with laughter, music, and heartfelt moments shared by residents, staff, and families alike.

“We couldn’t let our Trev leave without a proper party,” said Sarah, our Activity Coordinator. “It’s so sad to see him go, but we’re hopeful he’ll settle into his new home and continue spreading the same joy.”

Today, Tuesday 16th April, marked Trevor’s final day at Ryland View. He spent time going around each unit, giving everyone a chance to say their goodbyes. With his signature smile lighting up the room, there were many emotional moments as long-time friends gathered to bid farewell.

“Oh Trevor, I will really miss you. Please take care,” said Jo, a fellow resident, holding back tears.

Trevor, Ryland View will not be the same without you. You have left a lasting impact on all of us, and your presence will always be felt throughout our home. Thank you for being you—for the music, the smiles, and the unforgettable memories.
