Hammerwich Hall Care Home Celebrates Care Home Open Week with Successful Summer Fete

25 June 2026

Hammerwich Hall Care Home rounded off Care Home Open Week in style with a vibrant Summer Fete on Saturday 20th June, welcoming residents, families, friends, local businesses, and members of the wider community for a day of celebration, entertainment, and fundraising.

The home was delighted to welcome the Sheriff of Lichfield, Councillor Andrew Fox, who joined residents and guests to celebrate the occasion and show his support for the local care community.

Blessed with beautiful summer weather, visitors enjoyed a fantastic afternoon packed with activities for all ages. Live entertainment from popular singer Becca Gee kept everyone singing and dancing, while younger visitors made the most of the bouncy castle and face painting. An ice cream van proved a firm favourite throughout the day, alongside a wide variety of stalls, football games, a tombola, summer raffle, and freshly prepared food from the home’s kitchen, including homemade burgers, hot dogs, cakes, mocktails, and hot drinks.

The event created a wonderful atmosphere as residents, relatives, colleagues, and members of the local community came together to celebrate everything that makes Hammerwich Hall such a welcoming place to live and visit.

As well as providing a fun-filled afternoon, the Summer Fete also raised an impressive £580, which will go directly towards future resident activities and experiences within the home.

Resident Barbara D. said: “It was a wonderful day for all the residents, families and community, and it’s fantastic news how much money we managed to raise.”

Margaret S. enjoyed helping to run one of the stalls alongside her family and commented: “I really enjoyed my day, especially helping on the bottle stall with my dear family. It’s incredible that we raised over £100 just on our stall.”

Ann D. added: “It was an exceptional day and it couldn’t have been any better. I spent time with my family and my grandkids loved it too, especially the face painting and bouncy castle.”

The team at Hammerwich Hall would like to thank everyone who donated, volunteered, attended, and supported the Summer Fete. Their generosity and community spirit helped make the event a huge success, bringing people together, creating lasting memories, and helping raise valuable funds to continue enriching the lives of residents.
