Hammerwich Hall Crowned Advinia in Bloom 2026 Winner
22 September 2026
Advinia Health Care is delighted to announce Hammerwich Hall as the overall winner of the 2026 B Happie Advinia in Bloom competition, celebrating gardening, community involvement and outdoor wellbeing across our care homes.
This year’s results are:
- Overall Winner: Hammerwich Hall
- Highly Commended: Netherton Green
- Highly Commended: Oxford Manor
- Honourable Mention: Newcarron Court
Advinia in Bloom celebrates much more than beautiful flowers and carefully planted borders. The competition highlights how outdoor spaces can support residents’ wellbeing and bring person-centred care to life.
Gardens provide opportunities for residents to spend time in nature, reconnect with familiar interests, remain active and contribute to something meaningful. Whether planting seeds, tending flowers, watching wildlife or simply enjoying a cup of tea in the sunshine, each experience can create moments of purpose, calm and connection.
These opportunities can be especially meaningful for people living with dementia. Familiar sights, scents and activities can spark memories, encourage conversation and help residents maintain skills and interests that have been part of their lives for many years.
The competition also reflects B Happie’s three outdoor wellbeing pillars: Safe, Connected and Relaxed. Together, they demonstrate how a garden can become an extension of the care home—a welcoming space where residents feel comfortable, valued and able to be themselves.
One of the most inspiring aspects of Advinia in Bloom has been the involvement of families, volunteers, schools, nurseries and community groups.
Across our homes, gardening projects and outdoor activities have brought different generations together, creating opportunities for residents to share their knowledge, exchange stories and form meaningful connections with younger members of their communities.
Every entry demonstrated tremendous passion and creativity. The competition showed that outdoor wellbeing is not about creating a perfect garden—it is about giving residents genuine opportunities to shape, use and enjoy their surroundings.
Hammerwich Hall stood out for its achievements across every category. Residents, relatives, colleagues and members of the local community worked together to transform the garden into a welcoming space filled with purpose and happiness.
Residents helped shape ideas for the garden and enjoyed watching the space develop, while families and supporters generously contributed their time, practical assistance and plant donations.
Family member Carol Fallos said:
“A huge thank you should go to Paulina for organising the gardening support and plant donations. The residents and their families have thoroughly enjoyed working outside together and creating such a beautiful garden.”
Hammerwich Hall Care Home Manager Kerrie Carpenter added:
“Thank you so much to our family members and to Paulina for all their support. We are absolutely delighted to be part of Advinia in Bloom. Our residents and team have worked incredibly hard, and we are very proud of what we have achieved together.”
Paulina, Activities Coordinator at Hammerwich Hall, said:
“I am so proud of everyone who has helped with Advinia in Bloom. Our residents have really enjoyed getting involved, sharing their ideas and watching everything come together. It has been a wonderful example of teamwork and enjoyment.”
Netherton Green and Oxford Manor were both Highly Commended for creating welcoming, engaging and meaningful outdoor environments for their residents.
Newcarron Court received an Honourable Mention in recognition of the care, creativity and dedication shown in developing its outdoor space.
The Happiness Team said:
“Our gardens are so much more than outdoor spaces. They are places where residents can feel Safe, Connected and Relaxed while enjoying meaningful activities that reflect who they are. Advinia in Bloom has shown the power of person-centred care, community and intergenerational connection in action.”
Advinia Health Care would like to thank every resident, colleague, family member, volunteer, school, nursery, community group and local supporter who helped make this year’s competition such a success.
Together, they have shown that a garden can be a place for purpose, memories, friendship, wellbeing and, most importantly, happiness.
Congratulations to Hammerwich Hall, our Advinia in Bloom 2026 winner, and to Netherton Green, Oxford Manor and Newcarron Court for their outstanding contributions.
Let’s keep growing happiness together!
