Haydale Care Home Celebrates with End of Summer Garden Party

Haydale Care Home hosted its much-anticipated End of Summer Garden Party, a joyful event that brought together residents and staff for an afternoon of fun, music, and celebration. The party served as a perfect opportunity for everyone to connect socially and bid farewell to summer in a relaxed and cheerful environment.

The festivities began in the morning, with residents enthusiastically assisting in making homemade chocolate ice cream, a special treat for the afternoon gathering. As the sun shone brightly, the garden came alive with music, singalongs, dancing, and plenty of summer-themed props that residents and staff enjoyed posing with.

Winnie McGhie, a resident who recently gained the confidence to come out of her room, shared her delight, saying, “What a great afternoon.” Meanwhile, resident Ella McLeish joked about wanting a double cone, expressing just how delicious the homemade ice cream was.

This event not only marked the end of a wonderful summer but also celebrated the last three successful months of the “B Happie” initiative within Haydale Care Home. With various B Happie events held throughout the summer, the care home is now eagerly looking forward to transitioning into its Autumn program, bringing even more joy and connection to its residents and staff.
