Haydale Care Home Launches ‘B Happie this Christmas’ with Intergenerational Elf Competition
11 November 2024
Haydale Care Home kicked off its festive December theme, “B Happie this Christmas,” with an exciting intergenerational community competition in collaboration with St. Paul’s Primary School. The initiative invites local primary students to design and name “B Happie,” the mischievous elf who will bring holiday cheer – and a little bit of trouble – to the Haydale halls this December.
Students from St. Paul’s will colour in and personalise their versions of the B Happie elf, sparking imagination and creativity in a holiday contest that also honours one of Advinia’s core B Happie pillars: Connected. This competition offers residents a unique chance to stay engaged with their community while reminiscing about their own childhood holiday memories.
Two Haydale residents, Archie Platt and Margaret Eccles, returned to St. Paul’s Primary to officially launch the event.
Residents will form a committee to select their favorite elf design. The chosen elf will then “come to life” with a specially designed B Happie jumper and will be featured causing playful mischief across the care home in December, with updates shared on social media for families and friends to enjoy. Follow Haydale Care Home on Facebook to keep track of our mischievous elf.
The student whose elf wins will receive a prize package including a gift card, a festive selection box, and their very own B Happie Elf. Plus, the whole class will be treated to a selection box, spreading holiday cheer to all.
This initiative is a special way to foster connections across generations, bringing holiday spirit to both young and old, while championing Haydale’s commitment to staying ‘connected’ within the community.
