Haydale Care Home celebrated National Have Fun at Work Day with a joyful event that honoured the hard work, dedication, and passion of its staff. Aligned with the B Happie initiative—centred around the pillars of Recognised, Fulfilled, and Purposeful—the celebration aimed to create a positive and rewarding work environment, ensuring that team members feel valued and inspired.

The day was filled with laughter and fun as staff and residents came together to enjoy an interactive prize wheel, offering fantastic prizes as tokens of appreciation. Adding to the festive atmosphere, staff and residents rummaged through the props and dress-up box, donning silly and funny costumes that spread joy throughout the home.

Wellbeing Coordinator Isabel Cummings expressed the heart of the event, saying, “What better way to thank the staff than with a fun-filled day of appreciation.” Acting Home Manager Lynn McLaughlin added, “It was nice to see all the staff smiling and having a fun-filled day as a thank you for all their hard work.”

The day wasn’t just about fun; it was also about creating meaningful connections. Wellbeing Coordinator Kirstin Millar shared, “Today was fun and makes me want to come to work in a friendly, fun atmosphere.” Resident Alice Softly also praised the event, saying, “I think it was a great idea to thank my favourite staff.”
