Hillview Care Home Delights in Heartwarming Petting Zoo Experience

Residents, staff, and families at Hillview Care Home were treated to an unforgettable day on Wednesday, 12th March, as Uladh House welcomed a visit from Bunny Love after winning the experience in a raffle held during the recent Elvis tribute event.

Gina, the friendly and knowledgeable guide from Bunny Love, introduced everyone to a delightful variety of animals, including tortoises, rabbits, guinea pigs, fluffy chickens, and ducks. The tortoises freely roamed the room, much to the residents’ delight, while the bunnies and guinea pigs nestled comfortably on laps, providing a soothing sensory experience. Stroking their soft fur and feeling their gentle breathing brought comfort and happiness to everyone involved.

The ducks were a particular highlight, splashing around in a small tub of water and filling the room with cheerful quacking. Laughter echoed through the room as residents watched their playful antics.

The experience sparked many fond memories, with one resident recalling, “This is brilliant!” and another saying, “It reminds me of when I had a dog.” One resident even serenaded the animals with a heartfelt song, adding to the joyful atmosphere.
