Kingsway Care Home Celebrates a Joyful Christmas and New Year

Kingsway Care Home enjoyed a truly magical festive season, filled with laughter, togetherness, and unforgettable moments as residents, families, and staff came together to celebrate Christmas and welcome the New Year.
Throughout December, the home was bursting with festive spirit as residents took part in a wide range of activities including making Christmas cards, playing prize bingo, enjoying Secret Santa, and joining in a fun scavenger hunt. Families were warmly welcomed into the home, helping to create meaningful moments and lasting memories for residents during this special time of year.
With the colder weather setting in, Kingsway brought its popular coffee shop indoors, allowing residents to enjoy a cosy café experience. From hot chocolate and caramel lattes to gingerbread lattes, biscuits, and Christmas cake, everyone was able to choose their favourite festive treats. Residents also enjoyed being pampered by the hairdresser before Christmas, helping everyone feel their best for the celebrations.
The home was also delighted to welcome the local Women’s Institute, who kindly visited with gifts for residents — a touching reminder of the strong community support that Kingsway is proud to be part of. A festive raffle followed, featuring wonderful prizes including handmade Christmas Eve boxes donated by a local resident, as well as chocolate and wine hampers.
Staff added extra magic by dressing up as Santa, elves, Frosty the Snowman, and Rudolph, handing out gifts and spreading cheer with Christmas music. Two talented singers provided wonderful live entertainment, with residents, families, and staff dancing and singing together.
The celebrations continued into New Year’s Eve with a beautiful buffet and a lively karaoke party, including a heartfelt moment when a family member sang to his wife.
As Kingsway steps into 2026, the home looks forward to another year filled with happiness, community, and special memories.
