Love, Laughter, and Dancing: Valentine’s Day Party Brings Joy to Melland House at Gorton Parks Care Home
14 April 2025
Melland House at Gorton Parks Care Home was bursting with love, music, and laughter as residents and staff came together for a joyous Valentine’s Day celebration.
The home was beautifully decorated with a Valentine’s theme, and guests were treated to a delicious spread of themed treats including pink lemonade, Valentine’s cupcakes, biscuits, sweets, savoury eggs, sausage rolls, cheese rolls, quiches, crackers, and a range of finger foods.
Residents danced the afternoon away to a mix of classic love songs and upbeat dance hits, led by entertainer Sharon, who had the whole room singing and moving. “Oh, this was such a wonderful day—they haven’t stopped dancing!” she said, smiling.
The room was filled with joy, laughter, and music, creating one of the most fun and uplifting days the home has had in a long time.
Val from Melland House said, “Wow, what a fantastic day—I haven’t danced this much in a long time. What a great day!” while fellow resident Gerrard added, “I have had the best time, can’t wait for the next party!”
A member of staff shared, “What a successful party! So wonderful to see residents so happy. This is what it’s all about—seeing their smiles.”
These parties, held one to two times a month across the site, help ensure that every resident has a chance to join in the fun. Valentine’s Day at Melland House was a perfect reminder of the power of music, food, and community to lift spirits and spread joy.
