Love, Laughter and Music Fill the Air at Bishops Cleeve Care Home This Valentine’s Day

Residents, families and colleagues at Bishops Cleeve Care Home came together on 13th February to celebrate Valentine’s Day with a wonderful whole-home approach that brought joy to every suite and the café.

In the lead up to the celebration, residents enjoyed getting creative by crafting beautiful Valentine’s cards for each suite using ribbons, embellishments and colourful materials. The Daily Sparkle Activity Pack kept everyone engaged with quizzes, colouring, fun facts and even a Valentine’s jigsaw completed on the Magic Table, creating plenty of opportunities for connection and conversation.

On the day itself, the home was transformed with Valentine’s decorations throughout the suites and café, setting a warm and festive atmosphere. Residents and visitors enjoyed heart-shaped cakes topped with piped pink frosting, alongside the Bishops Cleeve special “Love Potion” punch, which proved a big hit.

The afternoon brought music, singing and dancing in the café with performer Anna Tharia, who filled the room with well-loved songs. Family members joined throughout the day, taking part in word searches, colouring activities and enjoying the entertainment together.

Resident Rebecca sang and danced from her chair, sharing that the music Anna performed was brilliant and that she looked beautiful in her wonderful Valentine’s dress.

From the tactile joy of crafting to reminiscing through music and memories of first loves, the day was a heartfelt celebration enjoyed by all, creating special moments and smiles across the whole home.
