Maycroft Care Home Brings Residents and Community Together for Joyful Summer Celebration

Residents, families, friends, and members of the local community recently came together at Maycroft Care Home for a wonderful summer celebration filled with music, laughter, delicious food, and meaningful moments.

The home hosted a lively BBQ party, with guests enjoying a fantastic selection of food and refreshing summer drinks, including favourites such as Prosecco and Pimm’s. To finish the feast, residents tucked into a delicious serving of Eton Mess, the perfect dessert for a sunny afternoon.

Despite the extremely hot weather, the team ensured everyone stayed comfortable by setting up umbrellas and gazebos throughout the garden, allowing guests to relax and enjoy the celebration safely outdoors.

Entertainment was provided by the much-loved Pauline, a regular visitor to Maycroft, who once again had residents singing, dancing, and smiling throughout the afternoon. The atmosphere was filled with happiness and energy as residents enjoyed spending time with family, friends, and new visitors from the wider community.

One particularly memorable moment came when a resident’s daughter attended with a group of friends, whose enthusiasm and dancing quickly became infectious. Residents loved joining in the fun, with one visitor joking: “Can we reserve our rooms now for when we are old?”

The afternoon was made even more special by a visit from a friendly dog named Jess, who was warmly welcomed by residents and quickly became a favourite among guests.

Another visitor shared their appreciation with the team, saying: “Thank you for organising such a wonderful party — we know you work very hard behind the scenes.”
