Maycroft Care Home Welcomes the Chinese New Year with a Festive Celebration!

Maycroft Care Home joyfully welcomed the Chinese New Year on January 29th with a vibrant celebration, filling the home with festive spirit and cultural appreciation. The venue was adorned with delicate red lanterns, symbolising good fortune and happiness, creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable party.

According to Chinese wisdom, this year marks the transition from the Year of the Dragon to the Year of the Snake, a symbol of tolerance, flexibility, and growth. This theme felt especially fitting for Maycroft Care Home, as we look forward to growth in a very real sense—building work is set to begin on our much-anticipated extension this year!

The musical entertainment for the evening was provided by the talented Piano Man, Malcolm. His lively performance set the tone for an evening of joy and togetherness, as residents and guests sang along and danced, embracing the spirit of flexibility represented by the Snake.

No celebration is complete without delicious food, and our Chinese New Year feast was no exception. Residents and guests were treated to a delightful spread of traditional Chinese cuisine, including noodles, chicken curry, fried rice, spring rolls, and delectable dumplings.

The event was made even more special with the presence of our residents’ loving families, whose warmth and energy added to the festive atmosphere. Everyone had a fantastic time, creating cherished memories together.
