Netherton Green Care Home Celebrates Love with Special Valentine’s Dining Experience
18 February 2026
Love was truly in the air at Netherton Green Care Home this Valentine’s Day, as couples enjoyed a beautifully planned three-course dining experience in the home’s Memory Lane Café.
The café was transformed into a romantic restaurant setting, with red tablecloths, heart-shaped petals, chocolate sweets, and marshmallows decorating the tables, while soft music created a relaxed and intimate atmosphere. As part of the home’s monthly French theme, a French waitress served the meals, adding a special touch to the occasion.
Among the couples celebrating were Margaret and Paul, Audrey and her husband Geoff, and Graham with his wife Jan. For Margaret and Paul, the day was especially meaningful as Margaret has recently joined the home, and the lunch gave them precious time together after being apart.
Couples exchanged heartfelt cards, with the men presenting their wives with chocolate roses and the women gifting small boxes of chocolates in return — a simple but touching gesture that brought many smiles.
The delicious menu began with tomato soup topped with a heart-shaped swirl of cream, followed by classic fish and chips delivered fresh from the local chippy, and finished with a nostalgic favourite — Viennetta.
Jan, Graham’s wife, shared her thoughts on the afternoon, saying she was amazed by how beautiful everything looked and described it as “a very special moment,” adding how happy she was to spend meaningful time with her husband.
The afternoon was filled with warmth, laughter, and treasured moments, perfectly capturing the spirit of Valentine’s Day and the importance of connection, love, and companionship at Netherton Green.
