A brand-new Rehabilitation Service has officially opened at Bishops Cleeve Care Home, offering expert support for individuals recovering from illness, injury, or surgery. The service was formally launched on Tuesday, 13 May, by the newly appointed Town Mayor of Tewkesbury, Councillor Alan Hayes, in his first official engagement as first citizen.
Operated by Advinia Health Care, the care home – located on Ruby Avenue in Bishops Cleeve – hosted an open afternoon to mark the occasion. Visitors had the opportunity to tour the new facilities, meet healthcare professionals, and enjoy a buffet representative of the care home’s resident menu.
Bishops Cleeve Care Home provides long-term care, specialist rehabilitation, respite stays, and dementia support. The new Rehabilitation Service is designed to assist individuals regaining independence following surgery, illness, or extended hospital stays. A multi-disciplinary team of nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and healthcare professionals work collaboratively to deliver personalised care plans tailored to each resident’s needs.
The service supports a wide range of rehabilitation requirements, including neurological and orthopaedic recovery, elderly care and falls prevention, oncology and palliative care, and post-hospital discharge assessments.
