Norwood Care Home Hosts Fun-Filled Italian Day with Arthurlie Family Centre

Residents of Norwood Care Home enjoyed a delightful Italian-themed day, made possible by their recent collaboration with the children from Arthurlie Family Centre. After chatting with residents about their ideal activities, the team came up with the idea of bringing a taste of Italy to the care home. The event, filled with delicious food and lively entertainment, was a heartwarming success.

The dining room was transformed into an Italian haven, adorned with vibrant Italian flags and beautiful backdrops, creating the perfect setting for an unforgettable day. The air was filled with the aroma of freshly prepared Italian dishes as the children from Arthurlie Family Centre took part in a pizza-making workshop, creating their own delicious pizza toppings. The residents watched on with smiles as the children’s creativity flourished, resulting in some amazing pizzas.

Alongside the pizza-making, the menu also featured a classic Italian favorite: pasta Bolognese. For dessert, the residents and children enjoyed a mouthwatering treat of homemade tiramisu and gelato, providing the perfect end to a delicious meal.

But the fun didn’t stop there! After lunch, the children entertained the residents with a lively performance of dancing and singing, lifting everyone’s spirits. The children’s energy and enthusiasm were infectious, and the residents thoroughly enjoyed the performance, clapping and cheering along.This special day not only allowed the residents to enjoy a day of delicious food and fun but also fostered connections and shared memories between the generations. The Italian-themed event was a wonderful example of the community spirit that Norwood Care Home continues to promote, providing both residents and visitors with an unforgettable experience.
