Norwood Care Home Residents Give Back to the Community with Thanksgiving Donation
29 September 2025
Norwood Care Home marked Thanksgiving this week with a heart-warming celebration that put gratitude and giving at the centre of the day. Residents and staff welcomed the Provost and a volunteer from Barrhead Food Bank to join them for a special Thanksgiving lunch, during which a generous donation of non-perishable food items was presented.
The initiative was inspired by the residents themselves, who wanted to show appreciation for the local community and support those in need. In the weeks leading up to the event, residents, families, and staff all contributed donations, filling baskets with food essentials for Barrhead Food Bank.
The day was filled with a warm community spirit, as residents enjoyed a themed lunch while also celebrating the positive impact of their kindness. The Provost praised the residents for their generosity, while the food bank volunteer expressed heartfelt thanks for both the donation and the ongoing support from Norwood Care Home.
This Thanksgiving, Norwood’s residents proved that small acts of kindness can make a big difference — showing that compassion, gratitude, and community connection truly have no age limit.
