Parklands Court Care Home Celebrates Burns Night with a Virtual Journey to Scotland

Residents at Parklands Court Care Home enjoyed a unique and immersive Burns Night celebration, taking a virtual trip to Scotland without leaving their seats. Armed with homemade passports and boarding passes, the residents “traveled” in style while exploring the sights and sounds of Scotland from the comfort of their home.

The event began with the decorating of Scottish flags throughout the week, adding to the festive atmosphere. Residents were treated to the iconic Scottish drink, Irn-Bru, a classic favorite that many hadn’t tasted in years. The air was filled with excitement as the group sipped their drinks while watching a virtual tour of Scotland, which included fascinating facts about the country and its famous landmarks.

The armchair travel experience allowed everyone to feel like they were on an adventure, while still being surrounded by friends and staff. “It’s wonderful to enjoy Scotland’s beauty without having to leave the room,” one resident shared with a smile.

The joy on the residents’ faces was evident, making this Burns Night celebration one to remember. From the cultural exploration to the shared experience of a beloved drink, Parklands Court brought a touch of Scotland to the hearts of all.
