Parklands Court Celebrates National Polka Dot Day with Smiles and Surprises
3 February 2026
Staff and residents at Parklands Court Care Home recently came together to celebrate National Polka Dot Day, enjoying a fun-filled day that brought plenty of laughter, creativity, and smiles throughout the home.
Everyone joined in the spirit of the day, with staff wearing spotty outfits and residents getting involved by sticking polka dots onto their clothes and accessories. The colourful theme added a cheerful atmosphere and gave everyone the chance to express themselves and have a bit of fun together.
Activity Co-ordinator Allie went the extra mile by hand-making polka dot hair bows from scratch for everyone to enjoy, adding a special personal touch to the celebration. Residents loved trying on the bows and admiring each other’s spotty styles, creating lots of shared laughter and conversation.
The fun didn’t stop there, as residents were also treated to a surprise visit from Bluey, which was met with great excitement. Residents were delighted to see the friendly character walking around the home and couldn’t wait to pose for photos, creating some wonderful memories from the day.
Nanda, Deputy Manager, shared her thoughts on the celebration, saying:
“Being the new deputy to the home, it has been lovely seeing the staff and residents joining together for our theme today. Even better seeing their faces light up seeing Bluey!”
Days like National Polka Dot Day are a wonderful example of how Parklands Court creates joyful, inclusive experiences where residents and staff can laugh together and enjoy meaningful moments of connection.
