Parklands Court Comes Together for Macmillan Coffee Morning
2 October 2026
Parklands Court Care Home welcomed residents, families, colleagues and members of the local community for a special Macmillan Coffee Morning, raising vital funds for an important cause close to many people’s hearts.
The home was filled with warmth and laughter as guests enjoyed a wonderful selection of cakes alongside coffees in a variety of flavours. Music and dancing added to the lively atmosphere, while everyone had the opportunity to relax, catch up and enjoy a friendly natter over a cuppa.
Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended, an amazing £83 was raised through cash donations. Several guests also chose to donate directly to Macmillan Cancer Support using the event’s QR code, increasing the overall contribution even further.
Louise, a member of the Activities Team at Parklands Court, explained why the event means so much to the home:
“This is an event that we will always hold here at Parklands Court, as Macmillan has helped many of our residents, past and present, as well as staff members, families and friends who have needed their support.”
For residents, the morning was also a lovely opportunity to spend quality time with loved ones and friends. Alan, a resident at Parklands Court, said:
“It has been lovely to spend time with my wife, daughter and others while enjoying a lovely cuppa and a slice of cake.”
The Macmillan Coffee Morning was a wonderful example of the Parklands Court community coming together in support of others. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who attended, donated, baked cakes or helped organise the event. Your kindness and generosity made the morning a great success while supporting Macmillan’s invaluable work with people living with cancer and their families.
