Parklands Court Hosts Heartwarming Garden Picnic for Care Home Open Week
15 July 2025
Parklands Court Care Home opened its doors — and garden gates — to celebrate Care Home Open Week with a joyful afternoon picnic and BBQ that brought together residents, families, friends, and special guests for a truly memorable day.
The event, held in the home’s lovely garden, was filled with laughter, music, and community spirit. Despite a few light showers, the sun soon returned, and the warmth of the day matched the atmosphere among all who gathered.
Residents were treated to a delicious BBQ, thanks to the incredible efforts of the kitchen team, whose freshly prepared food was a definite hit with all. “A huge thank you to our kitchen staff – the food went down an absolute treat,” said a member of the team.
Entertainment was provided by the talented Amy, whose performance of classic favourites had everyone singing along and shaking their musical instruments. Her presence added a joyful soundtrack to the afternoon and brought big smiles to the faces of our residents.
A special highlight of the day was a visit from the Mayor of Walsall, Louise, whose warm presence and kind words meant a great deal to everyone at Parklands Court. “It’s always a pleasure to have Mayor Louise with us—her support is truly appreciated,” said the team.
The event also raised generous donations toward the Residents’ Fund, helping to support future activities and treats for those who call Parklands Court home.
A massive thank you goes out to all who attended and made the day so special. Events like these remind us just how powerful connection and community can be.
