Parklands Court Residents Get Moving with Jazzy Fitness Morning
14 April 2025
Residents at Parklands Court Care Home enjoyed an energetic and uplifting morning thanks to a special fitness session led by Farzana from GFitness. Held in Marlborough House, the session brought together residents from different parts of the home, including Adelaide and Mick from Collins and Samuel House, for a fun-filled armchair workout.
Farzana, a passionate fitness instructor, had reached out to the team offering to run a session tailored to the needs of older adults. The result? A lively class with residents moving to jazzy tunes, stretching and strengthening muscles using soft balls, colourful tubes, and even personal dumbbells—much to Mick’s delight!
Exercises focused on gentle arm, leg, and foot movements, promoting better circulation and flexibility. The room was filled with laughter and music as residents danced from their chairs, enjoying every moment. Christine and Vivien couldn’t stop smiling, both sharing they hadn’t exercised in years but thoroughly enjoyed the session. Christine is already asking when Farzana can return!
Adelaide, who loves socialising, was thrilled to get out of Collins House for a morning of fun and movement. Even Jack, one of the senior staff members, couldn’t resist joining in—dancing and exercising alongside residents with enthusiasm.
The session proved to be more than just a workout; it was a joyful opportunity for residents to connect, move, and share moments of laughter and energy together. A big thank you to Farzana for her time, positivity, and commitment to the well-being of our residents—we can’t wait to welcome her back soon!
