Priory Care Home Celebrates Shrove Tuesday with Pancake Feast
5 March 2025

Priory Care Home was filled with joy and delicious aromas on Tuesday, 4th March, as residents and staff came together to celebrate Shrove Tuesday with a delightful pancake feast. The event was a great success, bringing smiles to everyone who took part.

Our dedicated chef, Kenneth Harrop, spent a busy time preparing a fantastic selection of pancakes for both residents and staff to enjoy. A variety of toppings were available, catering to all tastes. Traditional choices such as lemon and sugar and golden syrup were on offer, alongside more indulgent options like cream, jam, ice cream, toffee, chocolate sauce, and sprinkles.
Residents gathered in the main dining area to savour the sweet treats, and the pancakes were met with glowing reviews.

Neil Forrester, one of our residents, shared his delight: “It was lovely, lots of choice! I had jam and cream, and it went down a treat.”
Violet Hak reminisced about past celebrations, saying: “They were very good. Traditional sugar and lemon for me, just like we had years ago at home.”
Beryl Parker also expressed her enjoyment, stating: “Made a lovely change and were very good.”

The event brought everyone together, creating a warm and cheerful atmosphere at Priory Care Home. Shrove Tuesday was certainly celebrated in style, and we look forward to many more enjoyable gatherings in the future!
