Roberttown Care Home Celebrates Winnie’s 105th Birthday
4 February 2025
Residents and staff at Roberttown Care Home came together to celebrate a remarkable milestone as Winifred “Winnie” marked her 105th birthday on Saturday, 4th January 2025.
Winnie, who was born in Cleckheaton on 4th January 1920, has lived a long and fulfilling life. Her parents were publicans, and she grew up with one sister and two brothers. In 1949, she married her husband, with whom she shared a loving life until his passing in 2014. The couple lived in Cleckheaton and raised their son, Ian.
The celebrations continued on Saturday, 24th January 2025, when Winnie received a special surprise visit from local MP Kim Leadbeater. The MP presented Winnie with an official letter from King Charles III, a letter from the House of Commons congratulating her on her incredible life, and a beautiful birthday card.
Staff at Roberttown Care Home expressed their joy at celebrating such a special occasion with Winnie, describing her as a cherished member of their community. Winnie, in turn, was overwhelmed with gratitude for all the love and well-wishes she received.
As she continues to bring warmth and happiness to those around her, Winnie’s milestone birthday is a testament to a life well-lived and the power of community in making special moments truly unforgettable.
