Roseacres Summer Fete: The Silver Party Celebrates 25 Years of Community and Joy

Roseacres Care Home recently celebrated its 25th anniversary with a vibrant Summer Fete that brought together residents, staff, and families for an unforgettable afternoon of fun and festivity. The event was marked by entertainment, games, and a heartfelt tribute to long-serving staff.

The celebration kicked off with an entertainer who delighted everyone with singing and dancing, setting a lively tone for the day. The Well-Being Coordinators also hosted a unique shop featuring an array of random items, from clothes to accessories, but the highlight was undoubtedly the popular money tree stand, with all proceeds benefiting the activity fund for residents.Guests enjoyed a feast prepared by the kitchen, featuring a barbecue that received rave reviews. The festivities included games, face painting for children, and a raffle, ensuring that there was something for everyone.

A special moment during the event was the presentation of a long service award to Juanita Nisperos, a dedicated chef at Roseacres for 25 years. Surprised and teary-eyed, Juanita expressed her gratitude for the recognition of her hard work and commitment to the residents.

Among the attendees was MC, a new resident who had just joined on the day of the party. With front-row seats during the show, MC expressed happiness and gratitude for the warm welcome. FC, a relative of a resident, shared her feelings of privilege for being part of the celebration with her husband, stating it felt like a moment of normalcy amidst their care home experience. She affectionately referred to the staff as “the dream team” and even volunteered to capture a group photo of everyone.

Following the event, the team received a touching email from  the daughter of one of the residents, expressing her gratitude for the wonderful party and the care provided to the residents.

The Silver Party was not only a celebration of 25 years of Roseacres but also a reminder of the strong community spirit and the joy that comes from bringing people together.
