Ryland View Care Home Brings Community Together for Vibrant Multicultural Celebration

Residents, families, colleagues, and members of the local community came together at Ryland View Care Home for a vibrant Multicultural Celebration, showcasing the rich diversity, traditions, and cultures that make the home such a special place to live and work.

The event was officially opened by the Mayor, who spent time meeting residents, relatives, staff, and visitors while celebrating the importance of inclusion and community. Reflecting on the day, the Mayor said:

“Thank you so much for inviting me to this wonderful event. I have had a lovely time meeting all the residents, staff, relatives and friends of Ryland View.”

Guests enjoyed an array of delicious international dishes, including crowd favourite Jerk Chicken with rice and peas, alongside music, dancing, and activities that created a lively and welcoming atmosphere throughout the home.

One resident summed up the afternoon perfectly, saying:

“What a wonderful day. I have really enjoyed it, and the food was delicious, especially the Jerk Chicken, rice and peas.”

The event also welcomed children from Smarty Pants Nursery, who joined in the celebrations and enjoyed cooling off in paddling pools while treating themselves to refreshing ice lollies in the summer sunshine. Afterwards, the nursery team shared their appreciation, saying:

“Thank you for a lovely day. The children really enjoyed the paddling pools and ice lollies.”

Resident Hazel couldn’t hide her excitement after enjoying one of the day’s sweet treats, laughing:

“I have just had the biggest ice cream ever!”

Throughout the day, residents, families, friends, and visitors embraced the opportunity to learn about different cultures, share stories, and enjoy one another’s company. The celebration highlighted the power of diversity to bring people together and create meaningful experiences for everyone involved.
