Ryland View Care Home Brings Residents and Families Together for Cheese and Wine Evening

Residents, families, colleagues, and friends came together at Ryland View Care Home for a relaxing Cheese and Wine Evening, one of the highlights of the home’s Care Home Open Week celebrations.

Held in the home’s garden on a beautiful summer evening, the event provided the perfect opportunity for everyone to unwind, socialise, and enjoy quality time together. Guests sampled a delicious selection of cheeses paired with a glass of wine of their choice, while soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the warm, welcoming atmosphere.

The evening encouraged meaningful conversations between residents, loved ones, and colleagues, reinforcing the importance of community and connection at the heart of life at Ryland View.

Residents particularly enjoyed trying a variety of different cheeses, with many sharing stories and reminiscing as they relaxed outdoors.

Sarah, Wellbeing Coordinator at Ryland View, said:

“Thank you to everyone who joined us for the evening. It was such a great turnout and was lovely to see everyone together. Thank you also to the kitchen team at Ryland View and to Claire, our Customer Relationship Manager for the West Midlands, for helping make this evening happen.”

Ian Brown from the HR team also attended the event and praised the celebrations, commenting:

“What a great evening. Well done to you all – it’s fantastic.”

Resident George thoroughly enjoyed the experience, saying:

“It has been a lovely evening trying different cheeses and wine, especially in the fresh air.”

Care Home Open Week provides an opportunity for care homes to open their doors to the local community and showcase the vibrant lifestyle enjoyed by residents every day. Ryland View’s Cheese and Wine Evening perfectly reflected this spirit, bringing generations together to enjoy good food, great company, and the simple pleasure of spending time outdoors.

The event was another successful celebration of community life at Ryland View Care Home, leaving residents and their families with wonderful memories and plenty of reasons to smile.
