Ryland View Care Home Helps Resident Create Special Surprise 60th Birthday Celebration for Her Son

Ryland View Care Home recently helped create a truly heartwarming family celebration after resident Hazel wished to organise a surprise 60th birthday party for her son, Chris.

Wanting to make the occasion as special as possible, Hazel asked if the home’s welcoming community café could be used to host the family gathering — something the Ryland View team were delighted to support. The celebration took place on Friday 22nd May, bringing together family and friends for an afternoon filled with love, laughter, and happy memories.

The home’s chefs prepared a delicious selection of snacks and party food, helping to create a warm and relaxed atmosphere for everyone attending. Residents, relatives, and guests enjoyed spending quality time together in the beautifully prepared café space, making the milestone birthday one to remember.

Chris was overwhelmed by the surprise and shared his appreciation afterwards, saying it had been “such a wonderful surprise” and thanking Wellbeing Coordinator, Sarah at Ryland View along with all of his family for making the celebration possible.

Hazel also expressed her gratitude, saying: “A big thank you to all my family for helping make this party happen for my wonderful son.”

Other family members were equally touched by the support shown by the home. Chris’ sister Deb thanked the team for “making it special” for her brother, while granddaughter Gemma and her partner Stuart shared their thanks to Ryland View for allowing the family to use the café lounge to bring everyone together for the occasion.

The celebration was a wonderful example of the strong sense of community and family spirit at Ryland View Care Home, where creating meaningful moments and supporting residents’ wishes remains at the heart of everyday life.
